I guess this hinges on what fundamental means, oh and what evolutionary terms, difference, altruism, generosity, inspiration, give, charity, similar and mechanism mean.
Do folks really think that evolution would not be as fascinating if we couldn't caricature human psychology and moral claims? This kind of hyperbole risks distracting and detracting from interesting questions about clonal organization and the evolution of multi-cellularity.
